The Eau Claire County Community Humane Association (ECCHA) offers a variety of services to help support pet owners and our animal population.

Surrendering a Pet

There may come a time when you have to make the difficult decision to rehome your pet. This could happen for a number of personal circumstances, including: illness, financial difficulties or a job loss or change and more. Whatever the reason, it’s important to prioritize your pet’s well-being and find them a safe and loving new home. We do ask that you explore all of your options before surrendering your pet to our shelter, using this option only as a last resort.

Community Pet Pantry

If you or someone you know is struggling to feed their pet, our community pet food pantry is here to help. ECCHA and other organizations, businesses and individuals have teamed up with the St. Francis Food Pantry to provide pet food to animal guardians who need it the most.

Outreach Programs

ECCHA has outreach programs in place to help raise awareness of the important work that is taking place in the Eau Claire County community. If you are only available to help out on a limited basis, this is the perfect volunteer opportunity for you. You’ll have the opportunity to make school presentations and take part in special events for the Eau Claire County Humane Association.

Join the Education & Outreach Committee

To become more involved in ECCHA outreach programs, you can become a member of our Education & Outreach Committee. Focused on promoting the shelter and its mission within the community, this committee sheds light on issues like pet overpopulation and the importance of responsible pet ownership.

Shelter Tours

ECCHA conducts facility tours between10am-5pm, Monday through Friday. Tours outside of these hours can be scheduled by contacting our volunteer director. Your guided tour will include a walk-through of the facility, during which our visitors are shown the various areas where animals are housed, cared for and offered for adoption. This is a great opportunity to learn more about our mission, history and the many different programs we offer.

Microchipping and tagging your pet are two important ways to ensure your pet’s safety by increasing the likelihood of reunification should they ever get lost.
