ECCHA Welcomes New Foster & Intake Coordinator

Eau Claire Humane Association | Eau Claire, WI | 7/5/24

Eau Claire County Humane Association (ECCHA), is thrilled to announce the hiring of Raven Johnson as the new Foster and Intake Coordinator. Raven is a dedicated member of the ECCHA team and excited to expand our foster and intake programs.

While Raven is new to this role, she is not new to ECCHA, having served as our Customer Care Supervisor for the last year. She is passionate about animal welfare and is already extremely knowledgeable of the shelter intake process and the foster coordinator role, making her an ideal fit to lead our both programs.

“We are excited to welcome Raven to the role as Foster and Intake coordinator,” said Shelley Janke, Executive Director of ECCHA. “Her dedication will be incredibly valuable as we continue to enhance our foster program and utilize the space in the new building to save pets from all over. We are confident that she will build on our current successes and expand the programs even further.”

Role of Foster & Intake Coordinator

In this role, Raven will be responsible for overseeing the entire foster program, which includes recruiting, training, and supporting foster volunteers, coordinating the placement of animals into foster homes, and ensuring the health and well-being of all foster animals. As intake coordinator, she will oversee all managed intakes for the shelter, including surrendered animals, transfer of animals in and out of the facility, and management of our Pet Transitional Living Program (PTLP), which is a program in which people experiencing temporary homelessness can house their pet at ECCHA for a period of time for free.

“I am excited to transition into my new role(s),” said Raven. “I look forward to working with the dedicated fosters, community members, and transfer coordinators across the state and country to provide the best possible care for our animals and help them find a loving home.”

ECCHA has long been committed to animal welfare, providing comprehensive care, adoption services, volunteer opportunities, and community programs. The addition of Raven to the team highlights the shelter’s dedication to continuous improvement and innovation in animal welfare.
